Privacy Policy

Last updated 28 August 2026

Galigak (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent clothing project based in the United Kingdom. This policy explains what personal data we collect through galigak.com, why, and what rights you have over it. Full company and registration details are available on request — contact us.

What we collect, and why

Placing an order

When you buy a piece, checkout is handled by Stripe. We receive your email address, delivery name and address, and order details (what you bought, size, price) back from Stripe once payment succeeds — we never see or store your full card details ourselves. We use this to fulfil, ship and, if needed, refund your order, and to answer questions about it.

Contacting us

If you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address and message, so we can reply to you.

“Notify me” signups

If you ask to be told when a sold-out piece is back, we store your email address against that product and send you a one-off email once it’s restocked.

Newsletter

If you subscribe for updates, we store your email address and use it to occasionally send news about new collections and restocks.

Liking a piece

Liking a product adds to a public like count for that piece. We don’t collect any personal data for this — which pieces you’ve liked is remembered only in your own browser, not on our servers.

Browsing the site

With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (pages visited, roughly how, from where). See our Cookie Policy for how to change your choice at any time.

Who we share it with

We only share personal data where it’s needed to run the shop:

  • Stripe — processes payment and holds your order and delivery details on our behalf.
  • Royal Mail — receives your name and delivery address to post your order.
  • Our email provider — sends order and account-related emails on our behalf.
  • Google — Analytics (only with consent) and reCAPTCHA, which checks that our contact, notify and newsletter forms aren’t being submitted by bots.

We don’t sell personal data, and we don’t share it with anyone else for their own marketing purposes.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for as long as needed for accounting, warranty and legal purposes. Contact messages and notify/ newsletter signups are kept until you ask us to delete them or they’re no longer needed for the purpose they were collected for. You can ask us to delete your data at any time — see “Your rights” below.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to correct it if it’s wrong, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these, contact us.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can also complain to the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies, a few of which need your consent. Details of exactly what we use and how to change your choice are in our Cookie Policy.

Children

This site isn’t directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we start using a new service that handles personal data. We’ll update the date at the top of this page when we do.
