Cookie Policy
Last updated 28 August 2026
Cookies are small text files a site stores in your browser. We use as few as we can get away with, and only set the non-essential ones once you’ve said yes to the banner shown on your first visit.
Essential
Always on — the site can’t remember your cookie choice without one of these.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| galigak_cookie_consent | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies. | 1 year |
Analytics
Only set if you accept them.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics — helps us understand how the site is used (pages visited, roughly how and from where), only set if you accept. | Up to 2 years |
You can accept or decline these at any point by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser, which brings the consent banner back.
Spam and security
When you submit our contact, notify-me or newsletter forms, we run Google’s reCAPTCHA to check the submission isn’t coming from a bot. It may set its own cookies as part of that check. We treat this as necessary to keep those forms working properly rather than something to opt out of individually — you can avoid it by not submitting those forms.
Local storage
Liking a piece is remembered in your browser’s local storage (a cookie-like technology), not a cookie itself, so the heart icon shows correctly if you come back — this never leaves your device or identifies you to us.
Leaving our site
Paying for an order takes you to Stripe’s own checkout page, which sets its own cookies under Stripe’s own policy rather than ours.
Changes to this policy
If what we use changes — a new analytics tool, say — we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
